Bereaved Families is looking for bingo volunteers to sell cards to bingo players on-site for its bingo fundraising. Morning shifts are available starting May 26. Hospice of Waterloo Region is a volunteer organization dedicated to providing comfort, care and support to people affected by a life-threatening illness. Its services are provided in home, hospital or long-term care facility settings by trained volunteers. Hospice is looking for dedicated male and female volunteers who are available for daytime volunteer opportunities. Client support volunteers are required to attend a 33-hour hospice training program which is held on Thursday afternoons from 3 to 6 p.m. beginning Thursday, March 25. The Arthritis Society is looking for individuals to run Bluebird campaigns over the month of March as it is Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month. These campaigns consist of selling paper bluebirds (our logo) for $2 at a particular location. It can also incorporate dress down days, bake sales or other short fun events. If you want to help support Juvenile Arthritis research, please consider volunteering to run a campaign at your work, your church, your school, etc. We will supply you with all the materials and training to ensure a successful campaign. St. Andrew’s Terrace Long Term Care Community has the following volunteer opportunities:

One-to-one visitation volunteers are needed to visit with residents. Go for a walk, play a game or just chat. Volunteers must be at least 17 years old.

Dining room volunteers are needed to porter residents to/from dining room, assist or feed residents their meals, serve tea and coffee, and clear dishes. Shifts available seven days a week, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.; 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; and 4:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Must be 14 years old and older.
